Storyline Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Vi følger sportsjournalisten Raoul Duke (Johnny Depp) og hans advokat Dr. Gonzo (Benicio Del Toro) på deres vej til Las Vegas, hvor de to skal dække Mint 400. Men for Duke og Gonzo ender turen mere i druk, stoffer, ballade, druk og endnu flere stoffer, end det egentlige formål med turen. Filmen er baseret på Hunter S. Thompsons roman af samme navn og foregår i Guds eget land i en tid, hvor 60´ernes "peace, love and harmony" er blevet erstattet af 70´ernes kynisme.
